Colm Cronin is the trading principal behind Ardmore Systems Trading, LLC. He attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island in the United States, graduating in May 1979 with a B.A. degree in Management and Organizational Behavior. Mr. Cronin has held various trading positions throughout his career all across the globe. Beginning his career with Louis Dreyfus Corporation he was responsible for trading and risk management strategies of agricultural commodities such as corn, wheat, soybeans, soybean meal, and soybean oil. Additional markets traded included foreign exchange currencies within the European Union monetary system. Mr. Cronin’s responsibilities were not limited to just trading; he was also instrumental in the development and execution of new derivative trade structures as well as market analysis research.
After his time at Louis Dreyfus, Mr. Cronin became head of North American trading for M.R.G.E./Ferruzzi Finanzaria Spa, based in New Orleans, Louisiana and then in Paris, France. He was their head of world trade managing a futures speculative book, continuing to trade similar products.
During his managerial career he oversaw offices in Geneva, Moscow, Kiev, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Paris, London, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Madrid, Lisbon, Brussels, New Orleans, Brussels, Tokyo, Buenos Aires and Sao Paolo.
Beginning in April 2011, Mr. Cronin became the Chief Executive Officer and trader for Fota Management Limited (hereinafter “C3 Investments”) a Commodity Trading Advisor. On April 5, 2011, C3 Investments was registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor with the NFA and approved as an NFA member. During his time as principal trader for C3 Investments, Mr. Cronin used and developed quantitative systematic trading analysis and risk management programs to compliment his fundamental analysis, trading skills, and commercial trading experience all of which are incorporated into Ardmore Systems Trading, LLC.
